Descripton

Joined Jaakko Poyry (now Poyry) in 1993 who had already been using internally developed Digital Engineering systems for over a decade which included;

• Smart P&IDs
• Database driven design
• Automatic generation of electrical and instrumentation drawings
• Semi-automatic generation of control system software
• Web publishing of project documentation

During my time at Jaakko Poyry I was involved with Digital Engineering tools in various capacities, include end user and developer.

Challanges

Were developing web application in early 2000 so the challenges included,

• Limited technology and hardware support
• The idea of Digital Engineering was ahead of its time and quite hard to sell
• Limited internal resources to develop and support systems

Accomplishments
