Descripton
During the millennial drought, Sydney Water commissioned the construction of a 250 ML/d Seawater Desalination plant at Kurnell.
A Veolia John Holland JV was responsible for the design and construction, while Veolia was responsible for the operations and maintenance.
Challanges
Veolia was part of both the D&C JV and held the operations contract. This lead to conflicting requirements for the staff of Veolia Water Australia.
Accomplishments
Part of the team that delivered a piece of critical infrastructure which ensures the water security of Sydney.
Formalized the Veolia PLC/SCADA library which has been used for all subsequent Veolia Water constructed facilities (and since 2015 some Veolia Waste processing plants)
